Bonn – Deutsche Telekom investigates the profitability of this Internet shareholdings. Among others, the Web subsidiaries of the Group include the Scout24 holding company, the website www.fussball.de as well as the Load Group, which also includes the music service Musicload. Deutsche Telekom sees potential in the latter service.

The reason that individual corporate branches on the Internet were checked was that CEO René Obermann identified the Internet as one of the Group's new growth areas. According to Financial Times Germany, the Internet as a business segment - apart from smart electricity networks and electronic health care - will likely make up roughly half of all Group sales by 2015.

In 2009, Deutsche Telekom recorded sales worth EUR 800 million with its Internet business. This number was EUR 700 million for just the first nine months of 2010. Sales worth EUR 2 to 3 billion are supposed to be generated by 2015.

Among others, the music service Musicload is meant to help attain these corporate goals: A manager of the Group confirmed that Musicload is very well positioned in Germany but also conceded that it is not suitable for the international market.

As early as December 2010, Deutsche Telekom had attempted to make its services from the Load Group, Musicload and Gamesload, more attractive based on a collaboration with the Cologne start-up company YOOCHOOSE.
